Alcohol and Gambling Advertising Bill 2019

A Bill to ban the advertising of Alcohol and Gambling

Be it enacted by the Queen's most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

1 Advertising on Television and Radio

  1. Alcoholic Drinks with an Alcohol Volume of over 2.5% are Prohibited from being Advertised on Television.
  2. Gambling is Prohibited from being Advertised on Television
    1. Gambling is Defined as a Chanced Based Game where Money is at stake
  3. Any Breach of this section will be Punished by a fine decided by the Advertising Standards Authority

2 Advertising Online

  1. Alcoholic Drinks with an Alcohol Volume of over 2.5% are Prohibited from being Websites without an age restriction of 18 Years
  2. Gambling is Prohibited from being Websites without an age restriction of 18 Years
    1. Gambling is Defined as a Chanced Based Game where Money is at stake
  3. Any Breach of this section will be Punished by a fine decided by the Advertising Standards Authority

3 Other Advertisements

  1. Alcoholic Drinks with an Alcohol Volume of over 2.5% are Prohibited from being Websites without an age restriction of 18 Years
  2. Gambling is Prohibited from being Websites without an age restriction of 18 Years
    1. Gambling is Defined as a Chanced Based Game where Money is at stake
  3. Any Breach of this section will be Punished by a fine decided by the Advertising Standards Authority

4 Advertisements in Sport

  1. No sporting team inside the United Kingdom may have a sponsor that is an
    1. Alcoholic Beverage or Product that has an alcoholic volume over 2.5%
    2. Gambling, whether that is electronic or physical
  2. No sporting team is allowed to show that specific sponsor on a
    1. Stadium
    2. Uniforms/merchandise
    3. Advertisements inside the stadium
  3. Exceptions to this amendment will be provided for
    1. Participants in International Competitions
    2. Sponsors for International Competitions
