Be it enacted by the Queen's most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

1 Definitions

Contagious diseases refer to highly transmissible diseases that are pathogenic towards humans. Examples of these diseases include H1N1, Ebola, and SARS-CoV..

Activation refers to a request to bring a service up to maximum capacity..

Personal protective equipment refers to equipment required to protect against contagious diseases.

2 Procurement of Military Equipment

  1. The NHS shall construct two (2) Biosafety Level 4 laboratories and six (6) Biosafety Level 3 laboratories. These laboratories shall have the capability to quickly, effectively, and safely diagnose contagious diseases. These laboratories shall be subject to all relevant regulations and oversight. The NHS shall construct four (4) fully staffed treatment centers capable of handling contagious diseases including Ebola Virus Disease (EVD). The NHS shall also construct no less than 8 (eight) minimally staffed treatment centers capable of reaching full capacity within two weeks of activation. All treatment centers shall have negative pressure isolation rooms. The NHS shall retrain every hospital staff member including maintenence staff in infection control procedures. The NHS shall purchase and retain enough personal protective equipment to keep its hospitals running at full capacity for a period of no less than one (1) month in the event of a supply chain distruption.

3 Short title, commencement and extent

  1. TThis Act may be cited as the Enhanced Diagnosis, Biosafety, And Diagnosis Act 2021.
  2. This Act comes into force on the passing of this Act.
  3. This Act extends to the whole of England
