2023-06-05 As submitted Be it enacted by the King's most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows

1 Recognition of the Holodomer as a Genocide

  1. His Majesty’s Government will recognise the Holodomer Famine, occurring within the nation of Ukraine, as an intentional genocide by the Soviet Union against the Ukrainians living there.
  2. The relevant ministers shall be tasked with drafting a statement on behalf of His Majesty’s Government acknowledging the Holodomer as a Genocide.
  3. Her Majesty’s Government shall take all necessary steps to ensure that the Holodomer is treated as a genocide in all government and public institutions.

2 Extent, commencement and short title

  1. This Act extends to the whole UK.
  2. This Act shall come into effect on the day it is passed.
  3. This Act may be referred to as the Holodomer Genocide (Recognition) Act 2023
