Be it enacted by the Queen's most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
1 Amendments
The following amendments are made to Schedule 1 of the Banking and Financial Dealings Act 1971:
- In paragraph (1), remove “and Wales”, and add, in between “Easter Monday” and “The last Monday in May”, “23rd April, if it is not a Saturday or Sunday or, if it is a Saturday or Sunday, the first Monday following that day.”
- Add a new paragraph (4) reading as such:
The following are to be bank holidays in Wales:—
- 1st March, if it is not a Saturday or Sunday or, if it is a Saturday or Sunday, the first Monday following that day.
- Easter Monday.
- The last Monday in May.
- The last Monday in August.
- 26th December, if it be not a Sunday.
- 27th December in a year in which 25th or 26th December is a Sunday.
2 Short title, extent, and commencement
- This Act may be cited as the St. George’s Day and St David’s Day Bank Holiday Act 2021.
- This Act has the same extent as the Banking and Financial Dealings Act 1971.
- This Act comes into force on 1st January 2022.
